![]() Happy Thursday everyone. I hope you are all having a blessed day. A lot of people ask me how I got started as a Holistic Chef. I remember in the late 50's and early 60's watching the man who inspired me to take the road I have embarked on in my life. His name was Jack LaLane. He had a television show which showed him doing exercises that anyone can do at home to stay fit. My Mother use to watch him and mimic him. Over the years I tried not to miss his show along with his wife. He talked about fitness and Elaine, his wife, talked about proper nutrition. I was in my early teens at the time. It wasn't until years later that I became a fitness specialist for 32 years along with being a healthy chef. It's funny that things that are imprinted in your mind turn out later to be a path you choose, or an important decision you make and a way of helping others. I am so grateful to this man and his wife. He was way before his time. I have always told people when asked how I got started that it was because of Jack LaLane and Elaine who inspired me. My Mother took his information and exercised daily along with being influenced to make healthy nutritious meals while I was growing up. You see folks, you never know when something important to your life happens because of a word, a thought, a sign on the highway, a conversation, a television show and the list goes on and on. The key is being honest in your life, open and willing to receive. You never know what comes as a result. Learn more about living a healthy lifestyle at holistic-cooking.org. |
